How a Nerd Rapper Outshined Trap Rappers

I never imagined that a nerd rapper like myself could defeat a team of seasoned trap rappers, but that's exactly what happened when I went head-to-head with a rapper named Gifted and his team. My diss focused mainly on Gifted, but the whole team got it belt-to-ass. The victory was exhilarating and left me both thrilled and a bit shaken. This experience made me realize that an up and coming Indian Rapper can go head to head with anyone no matter their experience.

Many of us, with backgrounds similar to mine, never thought we could stand toe-to-toe with veteran trap rappers. My hip hop inspiration has always come from artists who grew up in the hood, trap, and commercial rap scenes. However, I knew I could offer something unique. As a young Indian American rapper who grew up listening to artists like Juicy J, B-Real, Kanye West, and numerous East Coast rappers who rapped about drugs, sex, and violence, I loved the music but couldn't fully relate to its themes. Hip hop has always been my passion, but my reality was different.

I believe many hip-hop enthusiasts feel the same way. We love the genre, but few artists address topics like education, financial literacy, and societal issues in a commercial way. I stand out in the rap scene, and it's unusual to see an Indian rapper battling hood rappers. This is precisely why I want to share my story: to inspire other Indian kids and up and coming artists to see themselves in me, to pursue their dreams, and not be afraid of standing out.

It feels like some people try and gatekeep hiphop even though they sample other cultures and reinvent sounds. I am here to prove hip hop is a part of my culture and I can compete with anyone and I am one of the best underground rappers to watch.
